We used Hampton Inn for our wedding hotel block with shuttle service to our reception. The shuttle driver was great! Everyone made it safely to and from our reception! The hotel service was great. Rooms were comfortable and clean and the staff was all great. Felicia was wonderful to work with arranging our block and shuttle!

In all my years of travel, i will always maintain that a hotel can be built on good ground, with good amenities and the softest mattresses that money can buy, and still be nothing of use to any traveler without the people who keep it running. Ive essentially lived at this hotel for 2 disjointed months of my life for business purposes, and in all that time ive seen employees who really take their job seriously. The morning receptionist is a delightful presence, the woman who prepares the breakfast, Adrian, is always hard at work at something when im having breakfast, and the housekeeping staff do a glorious job of preparing the rooms to the same expectation every single time. These people deserve the world for the comfort they provide. Hampton would cease to be Hampton without its people. Treat them right. Star deducted for the fact that 5 out of 8 trips here, ive unplugged the TV for the entire week because it just keeps turning itself back on in the middle of the night while im sleeping. Im no AV technician but thats indicative of some flaw in the system.

As we approached our planned stop on Detroit, as we were taking our summer road trip, I began the hunt for accommodations with three needs for our family of four (young adult daughter and teenage son need their own bed). As usual, it was very difficult to find someplace suitable. This was the only Hilton property I could find with a 2-Queen plus sofa-sleeper combo, and it was substantially less expensive than the two Marriott properties I could find with that combo. The hotel is currently going through renovations, but as of July they had not progressed far enough that I could see anything updated on the first or second floor... But I heard from another guest they traveled up to the fourth floor and "it was a whole different world up there." The common area carpets were incredibly stained and past their "expiration date."

Man, we always dig a Hampton. On this occasion, we were driving a friend to the Detroit airport for an early flight, so we all had a nice meal at Leonardo's and spent the night close by. The dude at the desk went out of his way to put our rooms next to each other. We would have been fine, but he insisted. Our room was a king suite - ooh la la! Kind of a strange layout. The bed was sideways with our feet facing the window. And the space between the bed and the window was taken up by a couch, which I think was a pull-out. No side table or coffee table for the sofa. There was a round table instead of a desk. And a pretty nice upholstered office chair. None of these things matched in looks or in function. I ended up dragging the table over to the couch to set my drink on. And I used the office chair as an ottoman. There was an enormous tv hanging on the wall. We watched Clueless. The beds at Hamptons are always comfy. The pillows are usually great, too. Both being true at this location, I slept so soundly that my wife had to nudge me when my alarm went off in the morning. A possible downfall of any hotel is the water pressure. Many don't have enough to blast the shampoo out of my thick hair. This Hampton location did okay. Our bathroom was very clean. Our towels were neatly arranged. Hamptons have free breakfast, which almost always includes 2 or 3 hot items, bread and bagels with appropriate spreads, hard-boiled eggs, a make-your-own waffle station, yogurt, oatmeal, some kind of fruit, and pastries & muffins. Plus juices, coffee, and milk. Today's location also had almond milk. I had a little premade omelet thing, a couple of slices of processed ham, and some pretty good home fries. A couple of notches above adequate. The kind woman at the desk this morning helped me get back into our room to retrieve our leftovers from dinner. Very gracious and helpful. Overall, this one's a keeper. Really nice

The property is a little warn but I feel impressed me compared to the reviews. It was a nice hotel that clearly gets a bunch of activity. The room size were very nice and the lobby lounge was a nice place for parents to gather away from hallways and other guests for hang-outs. Above all else - staff member ARTHUR was the highlight for me. He was positive, helpful, attentive and clearly loves his job. He would be the type of employee I would be looking for if I was responsible for hotels. Thanks fr making the visit for me and my family Arthur - hope our paths cross again one day.
